Learning new skills while removing knotweed

The province is helping north islanders gain new skills while removing invasive weeds in different communities.
Through the Job Creation Partnership project with the Regional District of Mount Waddington, BC provided $55,000 to help kill knotweed and create jobs.
Mount Waddington District economic development spokesperson Pat English says invasive weed control is a priority for the province, and the skills these people are getting can be used outside this project.

The program will run in Coal Harbour, Quatsino, Port Hardy and Fort Rupert
