More marmots coming to Mount Washington

The Vancouver Island Marmot Recovery Foundation is preparing to bring more of the endangered critters to Mount Washington this spring.

Incoming Executive Director Adam Taylor says there are currently around 300 marmots in the wild.

The captive breeding program at the Calgary Zoo has named 5 of the marmots set for release this year in honour of the new Star Wars movie.

Luke, Leia, Han Solo, Jabba, and Yoda will be released on Mount Washington after the snow melts this coming spring.
