Bridge replacement will cause delays on Highway 19 north

Drivers heading north on Highway 19 should prepare for extensive delays in the coming weeks, while a bridge is replaced.

Mainroad Contracting, which maintains the highway, posted a warning about the delays. The Re-Load Underpass Bridge two kilometres north of the Zeballos Junction needs to be replaced as part of road repairs. Single-lane alternating traffic will be required until the evening of Tuesday, August 27. There will also be delays of up to an hour in both directions when the bridge is removed and replaced.

The entire construction project is expected to wrap up by August 30. In the meantime travelers should expect delays and prepare accordingly, and respect all traffic controls.
