Salvage divers inspect sunken CANFISCO barge in Port Hardy

No one was hurt when a barge partially sank outside Keltic Seafoods in Port Hardy at the beginning of the month.

Sometime during the early morning hours from November 30 to December 1, a barge in front of Keltic Seafoods which was carrying a crane partially sank. No one was injured and no environmental concerns were detected.

According to the Coast Guard, divers are inspecting the barge, which is anchored to the shoreline and sitting on the sea floor, and the company plans to re-float it.

The barge is owned by the Canadian Fishing Company which is part of the CANFISCO and Pattison group of companies, Vista Radio has reached out to them for comment.
