West, Sunshine Coasts will get worst of latest storm over weekend

Another big storm is on the way for BC this weekend, but this time, the east coast of the Island will be spared the worst of it.

Extended rainfall bringing up to 35 millimetres can be expected along the east coast this afternoon and evening.

West coast communities, however, should prepare for up to 120 millimetres of rain this afternoon and tonight, with Tofino and Zeballos expected to get the worst of it. Flooding and water pooling on the roads may occur.

The Sunshine Coast is also going to feel some of the storm’s wrath, with up to 70 millimeters forecast for Gibsons and south.

Rain will continue into Saturday morning, but will taper off as the frontal system passes through.
