Rescue crews respond to man overboard near Kyuquot Channel

Rescue crews were called out to rescue a man who had gone overboard from a fishing charter off the northwest coast of Vancouver Island.

The man had fallen overboard from a small fishing vessel, about 13 nautical miles west of Kyuquot Channel.

Corporal Aubrey Hatcher with the Joint Rescue Coordination Centre says multiple agencies responded to the call.

The man was transported to hospital in Comox for treatment.
