The North Island NDP MLA believes that BC Ferries is not affordable, regardless of what the company is saying.
Claire Trevena says during the BC Ferries AGM, CEO Michael Corrigan was speaking about the system being affordable and a vital link, but he didn’t recognize that in no other transit system would residents be paying 1-hundred per-cent of operating cost.
Trevena says it’s the government that needs to step in at this point.
Trevena says these rates are completely affordable for families on the Coast.
