ICE-T provides $30,000 towards Mt. Waddington marketing project

The Island Coastal Economic Trust is dishing out a $30,000 dollar funding shot the market the Mount Waddington region.

Trust Chair Line Robert says the funding is part of a larger project to attract forestry workers to the region.

“The piece that we’re helping to support is the marketing piece – to help the region develop the tools that they need to make those opportunities available and to make the work-force, the forestry work-force, aware of the advantages of the North Island.”

She notes this will have a strong impact on the region. “This is going to give the North Island region the tools it needs to be able to make the communities sustainable on a long-term basis.”

The initiative is currently underway and is expected to wrap up by next January.
