Aquaculture pilot project on the Island

The Kawatsi Economic Development Corporation is launching an aquaculture pilot project in the region.
C-E-O Conrad Browne says the project was identified as a potential economic development opportunity for the  Gwa’sala ‘Nakwaxda’xw First Nation, whose members  are looking to move back to their traditional territory.
He says work on the scallop and oyster farm is underway now.
Browne says the program will be stocked to capacity by the spring with an expected grow out of two years.
