There’s still some time left to register for the first Kusam Klimb event since 2019 and put your body to the test.

The popular event is held annually around the summer solstice, and challenges hikers to climb a 23-kilometre loop up and over Mt. H’Kusam near Sayward, then down the Stowe Creek watershed.

While some people run the entire route, most climbers take seven to nine hours to complete the course. It’s not a race, but a chance for people to set challenges for themselves.

The trail features some steep terrain, and participants are encouraged to get in some test climbs before committing to the whole route.

The event this year is June 24, visit the website for a link to register.
